CoastalDatalink.NET mail
services include aggressive spam protection and filtering using two well known
blacklist databases. Every email message that goes through our mail server is checked
against the following blacklists:
The Spamhaus Block List (SBL)

The Spamhaus Block List (SBL)
is a real-time database of IP addresses of spam-sources, including known
spammers, spam gangs, spam operations and spam support services. The SBL's
rationale, listing criteria and procedures are detailed here:

SpamCop.NET's goal is to
provide a system which will flag the most spam with the least 'collateral
damage' (flagging of wanted email). This is a never-ending and difficult
task. This system is driven by people (some would say "mob-rule").
As such, it is intelligent but also faulty. People are instructed to
report only email which is UBE (Unsolicited Bulk Email). For more
information on SpamCop.NET go here:

CoastalDatalink.NET feels that using blacklists provides an effective and
low-cost form of spam protection for our customers without complicated user
interfaces. Although extremely effective, it is impossible to completely
eliminate spam 100 percent. In addition, although rare, it is always
possible that legitimate mail could be blocked by CoastalDatalink.NET
mail services.
